Jaylene is an athlete and researcher in paddling. She is also a former National team member for sport climbing. She completed a Masters of Science at SFU in Canada studying some of the physical, technical, and tactical skills used in canoe slalom. She is now completing research in Waka Ama (outrigger canoeing) for her PhD at AUT in New Zealand and loving it. Jaylene previously completed research in muscle biomechanics and neuromuscular control. In addition to her PhD, she is involved in research projects with football (soccer) and canoe slalom, including kayak cross.
